Hidden Symbols in Angels and Demons

When I went and saw Angels and Demons a few weeks ago, I noticed some hidded dots and symbols throughout the movie. Most of them showed up towards the climax of the movie and they would appear in a flash of light, or a quick camera pan. After the movie was over I asked my friends if any of them had seen it, and they thought I was crazy.

I searched around on the internet, and about all I could find was a question on Yahoo answers that was talking about the same thing. There were about 20 other people that had noticed the same thing, but we couldn’t make heads or tales out of it.

I forgot about it for a couple of weeks, and tried looking into it yesterday to see if there was any new information about it. I was alarmed to see that the question in Yahoo answers had been deleted, and I couldn’t find anywhere on the internet where it was being talked about.

If anyone has any info about this, can you enlighten me?

Hi Tim,

Yesterday I went to see A&D in a Dutch movie theatre and I noticed the exact same thing. It looked like a cross or the letter T made up of 6 or 7 dots. My boyfriend didn’t see anything at all. Glad to hear I am not the only one seeing these things. I thought it might be intentional considering Robert Landon is a sybologist on the trail of illuminati symbols hidden in Rome. If you find out some more please keep me posted. Thanx!

Jos

Ya, I know what you’re saying. When I first saw it, it was 4 dots in a square. Then it was 5 dots, then 6 and 7. Mostly square patterns.

Yeah, I noticed one of them, the one in a T shape, when Vetra’s flashlight is aimed at the camera, I think. Thought it was a fluke in the filmtape or something like that.

Braille perhaps? but that only uses 6 dots as far as I know.

YES!!! My husband and I saw ANGELS and Demons last night. I told my husband that I was seeing subliminal messages in the movie in the form of dots in patterns. He thought I was crazy. I am so glad to read that others saw it too…

Thanks for the back-up
Steph

I believe what you are referring to are signals to the camera operator to switch reels. They are often placed during pans, cuts, and otherwise convenient locations to mask the occasional imperfect switch. Or, for less experienced operators terrible switches. To verify, rent the dvd and see if the see the symbols again. If they are there, then you have a mystery to solve =)
