For my birthday Courtney got us tickets to see Othello in the Space Theater at the Denver Center of Performing Arts. The Space Theater is one of my favorites because it’s so small. She paid $18 for each ticket and we were only three rows from the stage. It’s just nice to be so close to the actors and doesn’t have the detached feel of the bigger theaters.

The play was going well, and then intermission came. We went upstairs to get something to drink and then wandered around the lobby of the theater looking at some of the displays they had up. At one display we began to overhear the conversation of the two guys next to us. One of the guys was an off duty fireman that we had seen standing in the lobby previously just keeping an eye on things. The other guy was dressed for the theater and he was the one making all the racket.

He was saying things like “that TRUCKING MAGGOT” (words changed to protect the innocent, think rhymes), and “I’m gonna KILL that person”. After about 30 seconds of this I turned to him and said “Excuse me, do you mind?” He looked at me and exclaimed that he was talking to the other guy and not to me. I calmly replied “We’re in a public place.” That at least quieted him down and made him turn away from us.

We walked away and after a few minutes the fireman came over to us to apologize, saying he had no idea who that guy was and was just letting him vent because he was so obviously drunk. He assured us that there were some police officers there that were watching the situation and that if the guy wanted to start anything, they would be right there.

Courtney and I went back into the theater to wait for the second half of the play to start. Courtney wondered if that guy actually came to the theater with anyone because she couldn’t imagine that anyone would actually go anywhere with him. As we watched people come back in, we spotted him on the other side of the theater. He walked down to his seat holding his arm stiffly like it had gotten hurt. He sat down next to a woman that we assume was with him. She was at least talking to him and they were acting like a couple. Anyway, as the lights dimmed we saw him reach into his jacket. We made a quick glance at each other wondering if he had a gun in there, but he pulled out a drink that he got from the bar. He thought he was really smooth sneaking it int. About 5 seconds later an usher came down and took his drink away from him. We gave each other a quick, satisfied fist-bump.

After the play was over we spotted the couple upstairs where he was finishing off his confiscated drink and heard other couples talking “Did you see that guy?” “I would have been so embarrassed for him.” “I tried to give him a hint.” So, it seems that not all the entertainment last night was on the stage. Coincidentally, the play was really good and we had a great time.

Conclusion: don’t drink, especially if you are a tool.

The cake was cut in a shape, and she took the scraps of the cake that were left after cutting the shape, and made them into cake balls. She crumbled up the cake pieces, mixed them with frosting, formed them into a little ball, then dipped them in white chocolate. She then put the cake balls all around the cake as a decorative border.

YUMMY!!!

When I went and saw Angels and Demons a few weeks ago, I noticed some hidded dots and symbols throughout the movie. Most of them showed up towards the climax of the movie and they would appear in a flash of light, or a quick camera pan. After the movie was over I asked my friends if any of them had seen it, and they thought I was crazy.

I searched around on the internet, and about all I could find was a question on Yahoo answers that was talking about the same thing. There were about 20 other people that had noticed the same thing, but we couldn’t make heads or tales out of it.

I forgot about it for a couple of weeks, and tried looking into it yesterday to see if there was any new information about it. I was alarmed to see that the question in Yahoo answers had been deleted, and I couldn’t find anywhere on the internet where it was being talked about.

If anyone has any info about this, can you enlighten me?

The DNC went really well. I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. It was really neat because the same group of officers hung out at our location for several hours every night which allowed me to form some (all too brief) friendships with them. Really all I did was sit and hang out with them… joke with them, watch TV, listen to their stories, and just get to know them on a personal level. I have never really had a chance to do that with cops before, so that was one of the biggest blessings for me.

They told us that the last things cops want is to be preached to, so the way I approached them usually was just to tell them a little bit of my testimony and left it at that. Most of them didn’t inquire any further, but all of them were very touched that we volunteered so many hours just to serve and support them. It was a little sad when we said our final goodbyes this morning.
